The Brief

Our customer, at Lower Road, Chorleywood, lives in Poole but saw a great opportunity to build on a piece of land previously home to public high street toilets. After a search online for certain criteria RPM Builders popped up and we were contacted. After various meetings, adjustments to drawings and discussions of space saving and gaining we were appointed for the work.

The Work

Full demolition of the site was required with no less than 73 lorry loads of soil removed to create a concrete Toe beam for the purpose of ensuring the commuter train line did not fall into the site.

The Result

The completed site comprises of 5 x 2 bedroom flats of different characteristics, our favorite being flat 5; tight for space a mezzanine floor was installed over the kitchen to give extra living space, supported by chrome posts it gave a real feel of class on the 3rd floor overlooking the high street. We worked closely with the architects to ensure high standards were reached, as well as sticking to the minefield of regulations associated with a building project of this size.

All work from plans to paint was carried out by members of RPM building contractors, specialist contractors were brought in for fiberglass flat roofing and security systems etc.

We are very proud of the final product and especially the way in which we maximized such a small site.
